New Lens!

Yesterday, I decided to splurge a little and purchase a new lens.  I have been reading a great deal of photography blogs and articles lately in which the 50mm lenses are mentioned over and over.  After searching several stores and online, I was ready to make the purchase...except that I found out that the 50mm lens I wanted to purchase was back-ordered at just about every store or online retailer.  :(  Major bummer.  Something told me to do a local search through Google and it paid off...I found my Nikkor 50mm 1.8 AF-S at ... wait for it...Best Buy!  I couldn't believe it.  I tried out a few shots last night and will post new ones soon.  I am very happy with it so far!

Cherry Blossom Sunrise

This morning, I woke up obscenely early to photography the cherry blossoms around the Tidal Basin in DC at sunrise. I knew it was supposed to be a little foggy, but the weather channel said it would burn off relatively quickly. However, mother nature intended otherwise. The soupy, thick fog hung around and left gray skies until noon. I was able to get a lot of great shots, but really missed the magenta, orange, and red hues I was expecting with a sunrise. I have included some of my favorite shots of the morning...
